Effective from July 1, 2014, trucks and road trains with gross weight over 3.5 tons intended or used for freight transportation must pay a road toll, the so-called Vignettes, if they use national arterial roads.
The road toll can be paid at any gas station operated by “Astarte-nafta” LLC. Upon payment, vehicle owners (drivers) are issued a printed certificate of the transaction, and the transaction itself is stored electronically in the Latvian National Register of Vehicles and Drivers.
Drivers may select the effective period of a Vignette to suit their needs.

The service fee for payment of one toll is 2 EUR (inclusive of value added tax0, regardless of the total amount of the toll to be paid.
